International Plastic Bag Free Day
Apex International Public School commemorated International Plastic Bag Free Day with great fervor. Under the astute guidance of Principal Shallu Gupta, Patel house orchestrated a series of events to disseminate awareness regarding the detrimental effects of plastic bags and promote eco-friendly alternatives amongst students.
A special assembly was convened wherein students and staff took a solemn pledge to eschew plastic bags and opt for cloth and jute bags instead. Ms. Pooja enlightened the children on the significance of substituting plastic bags with paper, jute, and cloth bags to preserve the environment for posterity. Students of classes 6th and 7th crafted captivating posters advocating 'Say no to plastic'. Class teachers encouraged students to utilize steel and glass tiffins and water bottles in lieu of plastic. The eco-club members organized an awareness rally, chanting slogans such as 'Carry jute, save planet' and 'plastic is drastic' to instill sensitivity amongst staff and students. Senior buddies tutored their junior counterparts in the art of crafting paper bags from old newspapers and waste paper. School Chairman Sardar Ravinder Singh Dosanjh and Principal Shallu Gupta commended the students' efforts, urging them to become 'Green Ambassadors'. They emphasized that such minor steps and lifestyle modifications are crucial for preserving the environment for future generations.
