Swachhata Hi Seva — Cleanliness is Service
At Apex International Public Senior Secondary School, we firmly believe that a clean environment is the foundation of a healthy and progressive society. Inspired by the national Swachhata Hi Seva campaign — Prime Minister's clarion call to make India clean and beautiful — our school organises a dedicated cleanliness drive every year that transforms values into visible action.
Under the visionary leadership of our Principal, Ms. Shallu Gupta, this initiative goes far beyond sweeping floors and collecting litter. It is a whole-school movement — students from Nursery to Class XII, teachers, support staff and administrative teams all roll up their sleeves and work shoulder-to-shoulder. The message is powerful: no task is too small when the goal is a cleaner, healthier India.
A School That Leads by Example
Principal Ms. Shallu Gupta has always championed the belief that true education prepares students not only for examinations but also for life — and life demands responsible citizenship. Her annual address during Swachhata Hi Seva reminds every student that small acts of cleanliness, when practised consistently, build habits that last a lifetime and create communities that thrive.
Under her guidance, the programme has evolved into a multi-dimensional activity. Students design cleanliness pledge posters, participate in campus cleaning drives covering classrooms, corridors, sports grounds and the surrounding road stretch, and take the Swachhata Pledge. Senior students mentor junior classes, building a culture of peer leadership and shared responsibility. The drive also includes an awareness rally through the school campus where students and staff carry banners and chant slogans encouraging every family to adopt clean habits at home.
What makes Apex's approach unique is its lasting impact. Ms. Gupta ensures that the lessons learnt on Swachhata Hi Seva day are reinforced throughout the year through classroom activities, eco-club initiatives and involvement of the parent community. Students return home as brand ambassadors of cleanliness — quietly transforming households and neighbourhoods one conversation at a time.
